By now, most of you have seen the following commercial by Liberty Mutual Insurance:<\/p>\n

I despise the commercial.\u00a0 No, despise isn’t a strong enough word.<\/p>\n
Why?<\/p>\n
Look at what is shows.\u00a0 You have three teens who got a flat tire.\u00a0 What do they do?\u00a0 Call someone else.<\/p>\n
Think about that sad statement.\u00a0 They called someone else.<\/p>\n
Just thirty years ago this would have been considered laughable.\u00a0 If I did this in high school my friends would have laughed at me.\u00a0 I’d be known as the guy who couldn’t change a flat.<\/p>\n
In a way this shows how backwards our thinking has become.\u00a0 When a problem arises we have to call someone else.\u00a0 We don’t roll up our sleeves and dig in and solve the problem, or in this case, change the tire.<\/p>\n
I had friends in high school who could change out the engine of their car, and even a few girls.\u00a0 Today, how many can say the same thing in an upscale school district?\u00a0 Probably not many.<\/p>\n
Back when I went to high school, if this commercial came out we’d have laughed at it.\u00a0 Today, people think its a good idea.<\/p>\n
