Reading through a history book I stumbled across a story which has remarkable resemblance to today’s world.<\/p>\n
Captian Cowper Coles in the British navy didn’t get his way when the British navy designed several ships in the early 1960s, so he took his fight public where, with public support he pressured the navy into a ship of Coles design.\u00a0 Coles was part of ever process, overriding chief naval architects of the time.<\/p>\n
The ship, the HMS Captain, was launched, overweight, in January of 1869.\u00a0 It seemed like, despite everything, Coles had managed to pull of a tremendous feat despite not a naval architect despite the fact he was one of the early designers of the turret.<\/p>\n
Everything was going along fine and the crew even praised the ship.\u00a0 All this despite the outcry of Reed, one of the top architects of the time.\u00a0 No one wanted to hear his concerns, and was over-ruled when the ship started her trials.\u00a0 So confident was the Admiralty the First Lord of the Admiralty, Hugh Childers, had his only son serving on the ship.<\/p>\n
However, like many things the ship was caught in a gale on the night of September 6, 1970, at midnight, a gale caught the ship causing it to capsize and rapidly sink.\u00a0 Only a handful of almost 500 men survived.<\/p>\n
What’s that have to do with today’s world?<\/p>\n
Simple, lets compare it to Obamacare.<\/p>\n
Obama went to the public got elected on promises which the people liked.\u00a0 Pushed through his Obamacare despite anyone daring to object, a bit like Coles overseeing everything despite objections.<\/p>\n
Obamacare, like the HMS Captain ended up grossly overweight, and has continued to be more bloated.\u00a0 Once more Obama (and his supporters) like Cole, are unconcerned with this.<\/p>\n
We are told by many how great Obamacare is, much like the crew of the Captain, they thought the ship was fine.<\/p>\n
Liberals continue to ignore any problems Obamacare might have.\u00a0 Those problems continue to grow as the program is fully enacted.\u00a0 The only difference, when the Captain sank it only took less than 500 lives, Obamacare will effect millions.<\/p>\n
