{"id":2076,"date":"2016-12-25T13:10:00","date_gmt":"2016-12-25T18:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.conservativeme.com\/?p=2076"},"modified":"2016-12-25T13:10:00","modified_gmt":"2016-12-25T18:10:00","slug":"merry-christmas-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.conservativeme.com\/?p=2076","title":{"rendered":"Merry Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a non-PC way I&#8217;m going to wish you a Merry Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>And the Christmas story, from\u00a0<span class=\"passage-display-bcv\">Luke 2:1-20<\/span><span class=\"passage-display-version\">New International Version (NIV):<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"en-NIV-24975\" class=\"text Luke-2-1\">The Birth of Jesus<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"chapter-1\"><span class=\"text Luke-2-1\"><span class=\"chapternum\">2\u00a0<\/span>In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24976\" class=\"text Luke-2-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>(This was the first census that took place while<sup class=\"footnote\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-24976a&quot; title=&quot;See footnote a&quot;&gt;a&lt;\/a&gt;]\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-24976a\">[<a title=\"See footnote a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+2%3A1-20&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-24976a\">a<\/a>]<\/sup> Quirinius was governor of Syria.)<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24977\" class=\"text Luke-2-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>And everyone went to their own town to register.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-24978\" class=\"text Luke-2-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24979\" class=\"text Luke-2-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24980\" class=\"text Luke-2-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24981\" class=\"text Luke-2-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-24982\" class=\"text Luke-2-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24983\" class=\"text Luke-2-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24984\" class=\"text Luke-2-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>But the angel said to them, \u201cDo not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24985\" class=\"text Luke-2-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24986\" class=\"text Luke-2-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-24987\" class=\"text Luke-2-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-NIV-24988\" class=\"text Luke-2-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cGlory to God in the highest heaven,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Luke-2-14\">and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"top-05\"><span id=\"en-NIV-24989\" class=\"text Luke-2-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, \u201cLet\u2019s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-24990\" class=\"text Luke-2-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24991\" class=\"text Luke-2-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24992\" class=\"text Luke-2-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24993\" class=\"text Luke-2-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.<\/span> <span id=\"en-NIV-24994\" class=\"text Luke-2-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a non-PC way I&#8217;m going to wish you a Merry Christmas.
